Aspen Film is excited to announce its 2022 Summer of Cinema lineup, partnering with numerous Aspen-area organizations to bring a broad range of films to the community.
Slated to return are collaborations with: The Collective at Snowmass Base Village for Movies Under the Stars presented by The Collective in partnership with Aspen Film, the Aspen Institute Arts Program for the Eisner/Lauder New Views Documentaries & Dialogue Series, and Anderson Ranch for Movie Night at The Ranch. New for this year, Aspen Film and Here House will present Socrates Film Café events. Other special screenings include a drive-in screening of Amir Bar-Lev’s LONG STRANGE TRIP and a family film event with the USC Shoah Foundation, and Aspen Film’s long-running, monthly Indie Showcase films at the Isis Theatre. For the second consecutive year, Aspen Film also presents a Summer Filmmaking Camp for Teenshosted at the Red Brick Center for the Arts.

ASPEN FILM ANNOUNCES 2022 SUMMER OF CINEMA LINEUP
Summer of Cinema is the lead-up to Aspen Film’s 43rd Annual Filmfest, running September 27-October 2, 2022, Tuesday-Sunday, at the Wheeler Opera House, the Isis Theatre, and the Crystal Theatre in Carbondale.

Nearly one year to the day of its very first rehearsal in July 2021, DanceAspen is excited to share a jam-packed summer lineup of performances in Aspen and across Colorado. DanceAspen will step on stage at the Vail Dance Festival (VDF), a project of the nonprofit Vail Valley Foundation, which will host the 34th season from July 29 to August 9, 2022. DanceAspen’s headlining performance is Sunday, August 7, at 6 p.m. at Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek, which will be an evening of cutting-edge contemporary works. *News* for their one-year anniversary, DanceAspen will be expanding the company from six to eight performers. APR Lawn Bash is set for Wednesday, June 29th, at 5:00 p.m. This community event is free and open to the public (with a suggested donation of $10 in support of Aspen Public Radio’s non-profit broadcast journalism.) The event, which was on hold for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, returns in person this year featuring national public radio talent, Jenn White, host of 1A, in conversation with Aspen Public Radio executive director Breeze Richardson.
Event details: Sandwiches from Grateful Deli will be complimentary, along with beer available for purchase from Aspen Brewing Company, as well as non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Support for the 2022 Lawn Bash has been generously provided by Challenge Aspen. The Aspen Public Radio Lawn Bash coincides with the Aspen Ideas Festival, as Jenn will be participating as a moderator and working with her team to broadcast 1A live from the Aspen Public Radio studios while in town. Produced by WAMU in Washington, D.C., and distributed by NPR, 1A can be heard on Aspen Public Radio at 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. each weekday, convening thoughtful conversations about important issues, showcasing voices from around the country, and bringing context and insight to stories unfolding nationally and around the world. Following a wildly successful winter 2022 pop-up, NYC’s Japanese omakase restaurant Taikun (Chef Kei Yoshino) will partner again with Marble Bar Aspen, under the joint name Marble Bar Aspen / Taikun, kicking off at the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen on June 17th through October 2nd. The full bar will include Marble spirits and *for the first time ever* the venue will now be able to offer: sake, wine, and beer. Open 6 days a week (closed on Mondays) at 4 pm Marble Bar opens for drinks; 6:30 & 9 pm Taikun Sushi seatings by reservation at www.taikunsushi.com *Fun Fact* water from the Crystal River in Marble, CO will be transported to the restaurant for the sushi chef to make the rice.
