Forbes – Colorado’s Craft Spirits Scene Is Booming

media coverage

Since 2011, the number of American craft distilleries has increased at a clip of almost 700 percent. In 2019, there were 2,210 active craft distilleries (and plenty more in the works) in the United States, according to IWSR Drinks Market Analysis. Much of that growth has been centered in California, New York, Texas, Washington and Colorado, with the latter now housing nearly 100 distilleries, up from single digits just one decade ago.

Colorado’s distilling scene covers the state, from population centers like Denver and Colorado Springs to suburbs, small towns and ski areas.

The Colorado Spirits Trail and its corresponding trail map is a fun way to identify and experience distilleries that intersect with your travels through the state. Whether you’re staying in Denver or Boulder, or skiing in Vail or Aspen, there’s something good to drink nearby.
